Paula Lucy Prebula, 81 years, of Petersburg, MI passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 in Lake Park, Sylvania, OH. A bus driver for over 50 years, she drove for Bedford Public Schools for over 45 years and St. Anthony School for over 5 years. The daughter of Paul and Irene (McCaffrey) Dixon she was born February 5, 1934 in Pittsburgh, PA. September 24, 1951 Paula married Albert James Prebula, he preceded her in death in 1999.
Roger Peace, age 66, of Temperance, MI passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. The son of John and Estaline (Strunk) Peace he was born July 2, 1948 in Toledo. A graduate of Whitmer High School, he then served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He married Deborah Fleck in 1973. A Mortgage Officer, Roger retired from Fifth Third Bank and was employed with numerous financial institutions through the years.
Ned Robison, 87 years, of Houghton Lake, MI, formerly of Lambertville, passed away February 24, 2015 in the King Nursing Home, Houghton Lake, under hospice care. He worked as a delivery driver for Pepsi for many years. The son of Ned J. and Vivian (Creath) Robison he was born May 19, 1927 in Erie, PA.
Stephen A. Bok, 55 years, of Hicksville, OH lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on Saturday, February 21, 2015 in his home, under the care of Community Health Professionals, with his family by his side. An ASE World Class Auto Technician and Master Mechanic for 35 years, he was most recently working for Jim Schmidt Family of Dealerships in Hicksville. He previously worked at Stan Pepple Motors in Bryan, OH for several years and BP ProCare in Toledo, OH. An extremely hard worker, Steve was also a life long farmer and owned and operated Bok Shop for many years.
Michael W. Beckham, 38 years, of Burlington, NJ, formerly of Temperance, MI lost his battle with cancer on February 12, 2015. He was born in Toledo Ohio on October 12, 1976 to Michael J. Beckham and Alice F. (Bowman) Beckham. He graduated from Bedford High School in 1995 and enlisted in the Navy on July 18, 1996. He attended Aviation Electronics Technician “A” School in Billington, TN and Intermediate Level Calibration School in Biloxi, MS. In 2012, he completed his Associates Degree in Electronics Technology from Coastline Community College.
Josephine Ann Hintz, 70 years, of Monroe, MI passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the Lutheran Home in Monroe. The daughter of Doyle and Mildred (Swartz) Wimmenauer she was born April 17, 1944 in Ypsilanti, MI.
Josephine graduated from Central Catholic High School, Toledo and married the love of her life, Peter Herman Hintz, on November 28, 1964 at St. Francis de Sales Church, Toledo, OH. He preceded her in death in 1987.
Ron Ely, 73 years, of Ottawa Lake, MI passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 in his home under the care of Promedica Hospice. A truck driver, he retired from Excel in 2004.
The son of Henry and Rachel (Higley) Ely he was born March 22, 1941 in Berkey, OH.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. A race car driver, he drove at Toledo Speedway and Flat Rock Speedway. His hobby was showing off his 1923 Ford T-bucket and going to car shows, traveling to Syracuse, NY for the National Car Show.
“Father Time” as he liked to be called, was a very good witness for Jesus Christ, he loved helping people and took pride in helping those in need. He was a member of Grace Bible Fellowship Church.
Donald H. Nash, age 63, of Temperance, MI passed away February 6, at his home from complications of Lung Cancer. Donald was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 4, 1951, to Robert Nash, Senior and Anna Nash. He grew up in Holland, OH, and graduated from Springfield High School in 1969. Donald completed a 4 year apprentice with the Ohio Carpenters, retiring after 40 years in the floor covering business. Don married the love of his life, Carol Zoldowski, in 1971, and celebrated their 43rd anniversary in 2014. From this union he had two daughters, Lisa and Nicole. He was extremely proud of his daughters and their accomplishments, including blessing him with 6 amazing grandsons. His boys never failed to make him smile.
Robert Birtwhistle, age 78, of Temperance, MI., passed away February 5, 2015 in Aspen Grove Assisted Living with his loving family by his side. He was born December 12, 1936 to Gilbert and Bertha (Blus) Birtwhistle in Toledo, OH. After high school Bob joined the U.S. Air Force where he proudly served his country. On March 22, 1962 Bob married the love of his life Sarah White.
Nancy Jo Fels was greatly loved and admired as a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. Nancy showed us how to live our lives with love, kindness and honesty. Nancy was called home to the Lord on January 31st, 2015. Born to Neuman and Sherley McFarland on February 14th, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio.
