William Rayphul Bracey, aka “”Billy”” or “”Willie””, age 47, of Petersburg, MI passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at The Toledo Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Billy was born on April 4, 1967 in Monroe, MI to parents Billie and Betty (Malosh) Bracey.
He attended Bedford High School and worked for many years as a truck driver. In more recent years, he worked as a full-time musician with the band Measure of Time. Billy loved music as much as he loved his family.
He is survived by his children, Amanda, Alicia (Matt), and Deanna Light, Elizabeth and Little Billy “”Bubby”” Bracey; grandchildren, Leigha, Mallory, and Kenzie; father, Billie (Patty); sister, Marion (JC) “”Cookie”” Monhollen; nephews, Jimmy Dean (Jaimi) Schmidt, Lucas (Nina) Monhollen; niece, Sheila Monhollen; as well as many other loved and loving cousins, aunts, uncles, great-nieces, and great-nephews; Alex, Katie, Madison and Johannah. Billy was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Lou Bracey.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 12 PM until 8 PM in Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Avenue Temperance, MI. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, September 8, 2014 at 11 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Temperance where there will be visiting after
10 AM. Cremation will follow.
The members of Billy’s band will be holding a benefit on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Papa’s Tavern located at 1328 Liberty Street in Toledo, OH at 8:30 PM.

My heart goes out to all of your family!! Willie was a very special person with a kind heart! He loved his children so much! No matter what life threw at him he always had a smile on his face, I will always remember that smile! My husband had the pleasure of playing with him in the Measure Of Time Band. Willie was an excellent musician, and will be missed by all. Our thoughts are with you all, Joe and Crystal Norton
